About 500 million asparagus spears are hand-harvested each year
Asparagus can grow 1/2 inch per hour under ideal conditions and produce 25+ spears over its 6-8 week season
There are 9,500 acres of Michigan Asparagus land, mainly in the West Central and Southwest corner of the state

Hi Heidi, you inspired me, so I went to the Michigan Asparagus site and copied some recipes, luckily for us in France it's also asparagus season, it seemed a bit far to come to you !!!
